Okay, I know it's been a while and I left you hanging but here comes the final thrust of the War(?) on Drugs rant.
I told you at the end of the last article that I would explain who was at fault for the grievances between the public and the police. The truth is, it's a four-sided assault with the police in the middle. This will probably garner a lot of hatred towards me, but, to Hell with it. The truth is always the least popular point of view.
Federal and local governments form two of the sides of this debate and their involvement should be fairly obvious to anyone with a functioning brain. Namely, the laws that they write. The third side is comprised of all the weak-kneed liberal pansies who want the government to control our every waking hour. This way everyone would be exactly the same and free choice would not exist. A good example of this brand of stupidity is the idea of bringing smart students down to meet the dumb ones instead of trying to elevate the dumb ones up to more intelligent standards. This is a travesty and a stupid solution to people being different.
Finally, you have the media, who is the fourth side of this assault on reason and reality. They constantly attack every new idea or anything different, thereby trying to drag everyone into the "status quo." We are berated by "moral rightness" and religious dogma (by the way what ever happened to freedom of religion? Oh, that's right - the christians had that done away with!!?). They tell us how we should live, what we should enjoy, who we should like or dislike, and how we should raise our children.
Damn it, people, we are supposed to be free-willed, thinking beings. No one has the right to make these decisions for us. It's our choice - not the media's, the government's, or even some slack-jawed pansy's. We are individuals and if more people had the guts to live as such, things would run a lot smoother.
There are just too many people who are willing to be led around like sheep. They have no imagination, no intellect, and no desire to make their own choices in life. They, in effect, are not even human. They're nothing but mindless, heartless automatons, just waiting to be told what to do next.
You see, what all of this boils down to is that most people are more than willing to believe everything that the government and the media tells them. So what you have are all these people that are willing to back whatever laws, no matter the cost in liberties, because they actually believe these laws are meant to protect them and their children. Since these people believe that the government and the media are trying to protect them from danger, they only see one failure in the system: the police.
This is a very sad state of affairs, considering that the police are mostly good, honest servants of the law. The problem, in this case, is not the police but the very laws they are sworn to uphold. Now, I am not a police officer, but I believe that most of them are good at heart and truly view their position with honor and sincerity. Unfortunately, most politicians lack any honor or sincerity so they write these horrible laws that cause so many problems.
If we could just get people to understand these simple facts we could possibly have a better society. At least things would run a little more smoothly (maybe ?!?!). Unfortunately, nobody in our society wants to change their views. No one wants to know the truth, because they are happy in their ignorance.
In parting I would just like to say that there are a lot of people who just need to grow the fuck up and help improve the general outlook of the human race.
Well, I hope I have offended someone with this. Just remember, if you are offended, it probably means what I have written above applies to you!
