I just recently read an article in the AOL News that has given me cause for venom. Therefore, I will inject that venom into your reality like a rusty needle.
The article is about a ruling by the Supreme Court that says executing retarded criminals is cruel and unusual punishment. The article further states that to qualify for retardation, by legal standards, a defendant must have a verifiable IQ of 70 or less. So I'll be expecting an enormous increase in murder in the Southeast, especially considering that 90% of the people born here are lucky to have an IQ of 50. As if the drunk rednecks around here need yet another reason to shoot each other in public.
This whole ruling sounds to me like just another lame excuse to not punish those that have broken the law. Kind of like an insanity plea for the new millennium. The legal system in this country has been failing miserably in the last twenty years or so as it is. Now, with this bout of stupidity, they have committed a truly criminal shrugging of their appointed duties. These people are given the responsibility of protecting the public at large through the creation of laws. As it stands, all they are doing now is ensuring that criminals get away with whatever their twisted hearts desire. I guess that's just what we get as a country for electing criminals into places of authority, because when you get to the root of the problem it becomes clear that politicians are just a more refined class of criminal.
Have these degenerates never heard of Hammurabi's code? "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, etc." - the punishment should fit the crime. If you kill someone and it has been proven, then your life should also be forfeit, period. To Hell with all that liberal "well, criminals have rights too..." bullshit! If you violate the rights of another person, then you give up your own rights; if you break the law then the law should not protect you.
Whatever happened to the "equal rights, equal opportunities, equal treatment" horseshit the liberals are always spewing from their flapping holes, anyhow? Equal treatment means that if you kill someone you suffer the same punishment as anyone else, whether you are black, white, green, insane, retarded, man, woman, three legged, or Martian. Equality means everyone is treated exactly the same, no exceptions. This ruling is not equal treatment, it's unjust.
We live in a society that is constantly trying to remove the blame for criminal acts. This person is insane, that person is retarded, and the other person is of a minority so they cannot be punished for committing murder because it's not their fault. It's society's fault, it's their parents' fault, or it's because of a mental instability. BULLSHIT! If they were cognizant enough to commit the crime, then they are cognizant enough to stand trial and be punished! I have even heard stories of women getting off of murder and child abuse charges because of PMS, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
Our society is already trying to tear itself apart and "leadership" of this nature is what has caused it. If something doesn't happen soon to make things better our whole country will self-destruct from the inside. We don't need terrorists or enemy nations to shake our country to its foundations; our politicians are doing a good enough job of it already! What we need is for the people of this battered nation to stand together and rise against the injustices like this. Stand up and demand your Constitutional rights while they still exist. You may not have them much longer; every day the federal government chips away at your rights with decisions like the one I have discussed here. It has to end now, for all of our sakes.
